Emotional stability is one of the five major personality factors and is the opposite of what is usually called neuroticism or emotional instability. High Emotional Stability

They are emotionally mature and stable person with good ability to manage their emotions and plan their life, resist impulses and operate in a flexible manner and controlled simultaneously and face reality with confidence and wisdom.
Although they may feel sick from time to time, usually they tend to be free of persistent negative emotions.When they experience a level of stress considerably and therefore more intense, negative emotions are also able to control them unencumbered by them and recover easily, leaving the past behind.
People with high emotional stability tolerate the stress of life, problems and difficulties without feeling especially anxious, tense, angry, sad or helpless, being able to maintain composure in these situations.
Low Emotional Stability
The person with low emotional stability poorly tolerates frustration or stress, being unable to function well when the conditions of life are not entirely satisfactory and the face of setbacks, difficulties, unforeseen or frustrations of everyday life reacts with instability and intense negative emotions such as anxiety, sadness, anger, guilt, etc.It is an immature, troubled, impulsive, careless, impatient, anxious and unreliable person.
People with low emotional stability try to evade and deny reality and have neurotic symptoms such as phobias, anxiety disorders, abnormal sleep, somatic complaints, etc.They are unstable in their attitudes and interests are easily disturbed and they tend to give up easily.They may have irrational fears, feel negative emotions, often harbor resentment toward others, and do not easily forget the negative events and are affected by them greatly.These people often have difficulty in adapting to life in its various aspects and struggle to cope with stress, make decisions and solve problems, because they feel overwhelmed by them easily.
Emotionally unstable people see normal condition as menacing and small frustrations of daily life are interpreted as terribly difficult, intractable or catastrophic and the negative emotional reaction seems to continue for a long time, which means they experience these emotions most of the time.
